Many grocery stores offer fun introductory courses where you’ll learn new recipes and meet other people who like good food. You always wanted to learn to ballroom dance, but your wife thought it was goofy? Now is your chance. Join a Friday night dance group. 

Hobbies don’t have to be classes if that’s not your cup of tea. Maybe you’d rather buy a sewing machine and teach yourself to make a quilt. Or perhaps it’d be fun to learn to play guitar by watching tutorials on Youtube. There’s nothing stopping you! New hobbies are rewarding and help you rediscover yourself as an independent being with passions that are all your own.

  1. Be proactive about your health.

It’s easy to forget what a huge impact exercise and a healthy diet can have on your happiness. You don’t have to become a gym rat or a dedicated vegan by any means, but when your body tells you it needs something, listen to it. Research has proven that physical health is a shortcut to happiness, so take good care of your body!
